Technology for Education Consortium is a non-profit start-up that’s mission is to improve return on investment (ROI) for US K-12 schools in the edtech market. By establishing a consortium of schools willing to share data, the EPC will aim to provide greater transparency in edtech product efficacy, availability, and pricing, ultimately improving school spending and market dynamics.
Every year American kindergarten through twelfth grade (“K-12”) schools spend billions of dollars on edtech products. This money is routinely spent without any measure of the impact on learning outcomes or with any pricing transparency. As a result, schools unintentionally waste massive amounts of public funds, provide students inferior or inappropriate materials, and perpetuate a system that limits the development of new, and more effective edtech curricula and teaching materials. School districts need a reliable source for what works best and for whom. TEC aims to become the reliable source of information to enable transparency on product efficacy and pricing.
